Join us for a one-year celebration party.

Familiar faces, patrons interacting amongst one another, the wild but also best live jazz and experimental performances, tons of first dates, second dates, folks chatting to DJ’s about what music is playing, playing records soft but also playing them loud, drinking cool wines, filling ears with good tunes, those weeks we had everyone in the Pacific Southwest building vibrating to electronic music, lugging speaker systems around town, dancing wherever there is room, groups of friends old and new closing eyes and taking in full-length albums in a single sitting, collaborating with great artists and hosting cherished guests.

Couldn’t have really hoped for more. Thank you.

To help celebrate one year of Programme Hifi, our friend Dustin a.k.a. Pontchartrain will be in town on his journey through California, and he’ll be spinning records all night with local fixtures Meztisoul & Discovery on 11/11.

Pontchartrain is a Harlem-based producer, DJ, mix-engineer, and label manager. Originally from Detroit, his musical career spans over 15 years and has earned him top spots on an array of charts, dozens of releases, many more technical credits on labels such as Razor-N-Tape, Soul Clap Records, Planet E, Toytonics, Delusions of Grandeur, Rocksteady Disco and others. Recently he has taken a lead role in the prolific disco label, Whiskey Disco, and subsidiary house label, Lovedancing after working as A&R for the last five years. Together, the labels have put out over 100 vinyl releases and counting. Pontch’s songs have been played on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM, several Sirius XM stations, and countless clubs across the world. His music has been played and charted by Jacques Renault, Jkriv, Eddie C, Jimpster, Demuja, Mark Farina, Kai Alce, and others. He has garnered several number-one chart releases on sites like Juno in multiple genres, as well as recommended catalogs by stores such as Phonica and Rush Hour.

Before moving to Harlem, Pontch had several residencies in the motor city while touring and working full-time as a social worker in drug rehabilitation centers in some of Detroit’s hardest-hit neighborhoods for nearly a decade. In 2020, he decided to dedicate himself full-time to music and now runs a production, mix engineering, and mastering business out of his home in addition to the labels, writing and DJing. His experience in community efforts and organizing shines through in music and performances, such as the memorable 2016 Movement Festival experience, where he brought the Detroit Children’s Choir on stage to sing alongside him. This also translates into thoughtful, poignant sets specific to each and every event he plays.
